So Chloe is 10 years old, has always been very healthy, and still acts like a kitten. As of around September last year I noticed she started peeing on the rug in the laundry room. Had a very foul odor, and was still peeing in litter box like normal also. Said rug has now been thrown out so she has resorted to rugs downstairs. Originally I thought it might be because right around the same time, I started putting in a lot more hours in at work-50+ so it seemed she was marking because of anger haha. But now I'm beginning to wonder.
No new additions to the house, just me working more. She's peeing on the rugs almost every day now it seems but also in the litter box. There's no odor from the pee in the box, yet the spots on the rug are STRONG- and crystallize if some drys on the floor. I'm taking her to the vet Friday because now I'm thinking UTI.
I'm just curious on your opinion at this point. Is it possible to have a UTI fester this long with little behavioral changes? Or does it seem like marking.
