If you scroll down there is a chart listing the foods they received ten or more reports about. "When examining the most commonly reported pet food brands named in DCM reports submitted to the FDA, it is important to note that the graph below is based on reports that included brand information and that some reports named multiple brands. Brands that were named ten or more times are featured below."

I wouldn't call this a scientific study, but a report based on reports received. To do a scientific study would mean putting dogs at risk when you already had concerns about the risk. From my reading this means that the people making the reports used these foods. It doesn't mean that other foods didn't cause the same problems, just that people using other foods didn't report problems. It is also possible that something else is causing the up tick in CDC.

The report seems to think pea/lentil protein might be a problem.

I look forward to seeing other member's interpretation of the article.

Here are the brands they listed -
Acana
Zignature
Taste of the Wild
4Health
Earthborn Holistic
Blue Buffalo
Fromm
Merrick
California Natural
Natural Balance
Orijen
Nature's Variety
NutriSource
Nutro
Rachael Ray Nutrish
