I'm worried about my Poppy. In January he had an eye infection. My vet gave me antibotic drops. That didn't completely clear it up so she switched it to antibotic with steroid drops. His eyes got better but there was still creamy discharge coming out of his eyes, then drying and I'd wipe it away...but the redness, squinting and scratching went away, until just a few weeks ago.
A few weeks ago, Poppy started obsessively scratching and licking at his neck and jaw areas. His left eye was also watering and a little red. I took him back to the vet, she said to give him more of the eye drops and it was allergies.
I don't think the eye drops are helping his scratching and licking. His eyes look great though.
Also, he will not stop licking some of my rugs, some areas of my berber carpet and one of my chairs. I covered up the chair, put away the rugs but cannot do anything about the carpet. I don't know if the licking of the rugs, carpet and chair has anything to do with his "allergies". Why is he licking the carpet?!?
He is an indoor cat but I have been opening the windows because it is nice outside and he sits in the open windows alot.
Does anyone have any advice, please? Thanks
