our poor kitty! he's got feline kidney disease he gets sub-qs for, hyperthyroid he gets a transdermal for, IBS he gets a steroid for and without a laxative, he can't go at all. then for the last few weeks, our indoor cat was attacked by fleas that left him somewhat anemic and when we gave him capstar, it made him nauseous.
and this afternoon he woke me up for a nap. he jumped up on the bed, and after some petting, he jumped down. after a few minutes, i got up and there was a soaked in puddle where he had been. i got up to check on him, and there were little drips across the floor. and his flank was wet where it was in contact with the floor. he's been leaking for the past hour and a half - no more than the normal amount he'd pee periodically in the box, but his bladder is simply releasing. he's leaving little trickles everywhere, and i'm about to call a highly rated animal emergency clinic that is just opening now for the evening.
and i guess more than anything else, i needed to vent. god knows after all the money we've spent on him we can't afford it. really can't. another large bill will impact us very badly. and god knows he's seen too much of vets and techs lately and has become very afraid of them, which probably means we need to find a new vet. but my first thought was if it's the leaking is caused by an infection, it's going to get worse without antibiotics. so we gotta take him.
it's so hard on him, and it's been so hard on us - we love him to much, he's family and he's been with my husband since 1998. and it seems like there's always something new that he doesn't like. thank goodness i work at home and lately don't leave much so he almost always has company.
well, time to call the emergency place and see what they say.
thank you for reading this.
