Ok so.
On August 16th Kitty was taken to the vet, confirmed as having earmites, and was given a dose of milbemite in both ears. It's now the 25th and he's still doing some scratching. Today when I checked and cleaned his ears he still had some black-brown gunk in his ears. Some of it seemed ' fresh '
I did a pretty through cleaning of his ears before he was treated with the ear mite meds to make sure he got optimal coating of the ear with the medicine. Though milbemite claims to be able to work through the ear gunk.
I will be taking him to the vet on Thursday Augst. 30th because of an eye issue and I'll be getting him checked for mites again.
Is it normal for the cat to still have symptoms after treatment ? Still be getting the goo in his ears ? Do you think it's possible he's developed an infection in his ears after the fact ? When I took him in first vet said mites only no infection.
I washed everything he sleeps on in the house when we got home and scrubbed down the bathroom. I even steam cleaned the carpets and bought him brand new cat cubes to sleep in so the other could be trashed for mites.
He's strictly an indoor single cat at so I'm not even sure where he picked up the earmites from. :X
