Hi! I just got from the vet for another problem and he found the fleas at my cat! He gave to me the "Advantage !!" to use for the treatment. What do I think about that? That is the toxic medication that has to be applied the every month to keep fleas away from the cat. He is the outdoor cat and he has the friend that doesn't even lives indoor (the his owner has the big dog the inside of house, so she just feed the cats the outside of house), and there are the few strays or who knows whose cats that he is in contact periodically. The question is: does it cost to torture the animal and put at him this toxic chemical medication: at the order to get rid out of fleas, if he is going to get them again and over, again and over? I would understand that if we would just get rid of the fleas and it would be done the once or twice. But to have to put that at him at all the times, on the permanent basis? Is that is not bad for cats health? May be, better leave him with the fleas, he would not die from it? But the toxic chemical could lead to different illnesses within the organism. I'm puzzled the what is the right thing to do? I did not even knew that he has the fleas, he was playful and fine and happy. I'm just scared of all the chemicals that we put on oneselves and apply to our four-legged best friends as well and then we wonder from where they get human deseases. Any thoughts?
