Does pet insurance cover medication?

Hi everybody,
I have a cat, and I still insure it every year. I love it very much, considering it as my relative. My cat has been sick these days. I want to ask everyone if I know if I buy it, it costs money for medicine, let me take it to the doctor?
Thanks very much.

You’ll have to check your specific insurance — it varies. For example, the one my cats are on covers everything but routine appointments, tooth scaling, and cancer.

edit: just reread what you said in your actual post (just skimmed it and answered based on the title, sorry 😓) Pet insurance doesn’t cover pre-existing conditions. You have to have had it for at least 2 weeks (or more, depending on your insurance) before you can file a claim.

If I'm not mistaken, the insurance package I bought is the same as you, let me check again, thank you anyway.
