Hi everyone!

I’m actually curious about my black cat, Ramses, as I believe my tabby girl, Celeste, is a domestic shorthair tabby.

I adopted him from a shelter and he is a very long, slender cat with a very thin tail. He seems almost like an oriental shorthair without the huge ears. His snout is also very pronounced— reminds me of the panther Bagheera from the Jungle Book. It’s not long, just wide across the bridge of his nose.

If it helps, peronsality wise he’s also very vocal and affectionate with incredibly smooth, silky fur. It’s glossy to the touch, like a rabbit almost, but thicker.

He looks so regal and interesting, so we were inspired to name him after the king of Egypt! Here are some pictures below:

Wow!! Look at that jawline! He's gorgeous.
I don't know, but there certainly could be.
I'm glad you all found each other!

He’s so handsome! Celeste is very pretty as well. It’s possible that Ramses might have some Oriental in him- with his pronounced muzzle, and long legs, and whip-like tail. However, his paws are a bit bigger than an Oriental. Technically, he would be a black Domestic Shorthair. There is a wide variety of looks within the DSH population.

Thank you both! And abyeb abyeb yes -- the tail and pronounce muzzle were the main reasons I thought oriental as well. Maybe there are some genes in there. Thanks for your valuable input.
