I see that the sub-q fluids I give Buster are MUCH cheaper at Kv supply than from my vet. Has anyone shopped from this company? Any feedback would be appreciated.
lactated ringers - 100ml per day and our vet charges $20.50 per 1000ml bagmay i ask -- what type of sub-q fluid is your Buster being given? (lactated ringers, sodium chloride 0.9%, normasol-r or plasmalyte-a, etc)
okay. if i'm not mistaken, lactated ringers can be negatively effected by too hot/too cold temps. you might consider ordering the fluids during the cooler months in Florida, but also not the hot/cold (frigid) months the package will be shipping from/through. maybe mid to late october, or early november...?

I had NO IDEA about the sensitivity to temperature thing! You are so right about considering the temps. that the truck is driving through. I may continue to buy from our vet until November and then order. We have been using 18 gauge needles that I intend to buy along with the fluids.

just looking over at thrivingpets dot com, they sell lactated ringers in the 1000ml bags for $15 per bag, or 20% off when you buy a case of 12/1000ml bags which works out to $12 per bag -- http://www.thrivingpets.com/index.php/lactated-ringers-inj-usp-1-liter-bags.html they offer free ground shipping on orders over $100. ground shipping can take 1 - 2 weeks to get to you.
every little bit that we're able to save, by buying our sub-q's/supplies online, helps us to better be able to afford the vet costs while caring for our babies.
have you considered buying your needles and iv admin lines online too? i always bought terumo 20 gauge UTW (ultra thin wall) needles as well as my iv admin lines from thriving pets too -- http://www.thrivingpets.com/index.php/terumo-needles-box-of-100.html, http://www.thrivingpets.com/index.php/iv-admin-set-bbraun-v1402.html
Thank you so much for the feedback on kv supply. I wasn't really concerned about problems with my order, just concerned about the security of my credit info with a company I had never heard of before. It makes me feel more comfortable giving a company a chance if I can verify that there are real people out there that have used them. Thanks again. I really appreciate it!
I've ordered from KV Supply before and also through Amazon for which they sell items and have never had a problem. If you do have a problem that a retailer won't resolve, you can dispute the charge with the credit card company. They tend to side with the customer. You can also always check with the BBB. As a side note, I honestly order about 99% of my pet food, beds, toys, treats, wormers, etc. etc. from online and you can count on maybe a couple of fingers the times I've ever had any problems and it has always been resolved without me having to contact my credit card company, just some aggravation and note to self not to do business with that particular vendor ever again.
