does anyone has a dog and cat and could explain and share their experiences?

my dog is so discipline nice and gets along with everyone! 

cat is nice but loves to be alone ...

when alone they play with each  other

but the cat is so secluded ..when he hears the door bell he disappears 

during the day he s only available when no one is home unless me him and the dog

my dog loves him ,,,

i do and my husband...

just too sacred  just in case he just is better alone with no other animal 

as he was defensive towards another cat ,,,

I looked at your other thread and am thinking this is your 7month old Persian and Angola mix cat and he is your first cat? 

How long have you had him?

I think your cat's behavior is not unusual. Every cat has this "wary" streak, just in different degrees. 

In my home, my dog and cats get along pretty well. When the door bell rings, the dog barks and the cats hide (athough a few are curious enough to take a peek).
