Yep, I'm constantly battling with Fable's weight, I don't see him as being cute because he's overweight, I would much rather he was healthy and slim like his brother.Originally Posted by mews2much

I like my kitties to have a bit of meat on their bones but a truly fat cat is an unhealthy cat.... just like obese humans, the health risks increase as the weight does.Originally Posted by ladybug2010
As you can tell, I really do! They're so adorable that you just want to hug them forever. But I've seen posts from people upset that they're fat. If the cat is happy, isn't that enough?

I remember that. I think that one lady also had issues with not being able to have children therefore she projected her grief onto the dog.Originally Posted by strange_wings
I just remembered it. Did anyone here see the BBC show Fat Pets? Two people featured actually realized their pets needed medical care and a diet. One insisted that her extremely obese rottweiler was healthy. That feeding her so much was because she loved her. The woman basically had some issues that made her believe food = love.
I think it was more than just the excuse she gave. Probably depression from another source. Both she and her husband were overweight, too, though. So that showed likely ignorance (maybe intentional) not to learn better eating habits.Originally Posted by Nekomania

That is probably true, I didnt remember what the lady looked like but you are probably right.Originally Posted by strange_wings

Like the woman with the spaniel (iirc). She snacked a lot and enjoyed it, thus thought her dog needed the same thing.
Your cats are absolutely adorable. And such personality! As a mom to previously chubby kitties, I just want to hug them silly. As many posters here have said, though, you may want to slim them down a little. I have found that wet food and regular scheduled feedings really helps that. Loving the kitties!Originally Posted by ladybug2010
