Do You Know The Effects Of High Calcium In Your Cats Blood?

Hi there
Just wondering do you know the effects of high calcium in your cats blood? scoobs has been diagnosed with high calcium but she also has IBD of some form (haven't done a biopsy yet). The specialist doesn't know if the high calcium is causing the IBD or it is two separate issues. How does your cat feel with high calcium? Scoobs is on 5mg of Prednil but doesn't do much.

I haven’t personally experienced this with my cat, but I did manage to find an old thread about this topic: HYPERCALCEMIA ANYONE EXPERIENCING IT?

Did your vet mention any possible reasons for his elevated calcium levels?

thanks so much for the thread i will look at it now...
they did a blood test.. and it came back high calcium.. they did this as she was loosing so much weight.. she was 2.5 kilos!! then they did an ultrasound .. and said they cannot pick up any reason for it... i have read that lots of lactalose can cause it.. she has been lots of this for five years.... the vet and the specailist say no way.. it didn't cause this... so ????????
