I've been using Mom's old West Bend electric skillet to make my sourdough English muffins, pancakes, etc. It does not heat evenly. Even at a low heat, if I'm not really careful, one side of the muffin will be really dark and it's not cooked through.
I've been thinking now for a while about getting a griddle. As usual, thinking about it, but not actually getting one.
Do you have one? Do you like yours? Do you use it?
We looked at griddles on Saturday. Rick asked me, "If you get a griddle, what kitchen item are you willing to give up?" I looked at him and said, "You cannot be serious! You really expect me to give something up? Are you insane?" There was a another couple in the aisle and they started laughing. The woman said that she and her husband have this argument all the time, only it's her husband who likes kitchen gadgets. And HE asked me for my recipe for English muffins!!!
