Cats can go through what I call Indepence Phases. We adopted Apollo when he was around 3-4 months old. He was very cuddly with me. Once he became an adult it felt like he only wanted be around us on his terms. This meant being in the same room as us and running away when he was not in the mood for pets. He stopped sleeping on the bed and slept downstairs on top of our loveseat. He has become daddy’s kid now. He prefers to interact with and sleep on daddy. He shows me love by just hanging out near me. If he wants pets he will lay on top of the couch and meow at me or lay on the bed touching me. Cats go through these phases at their own pace and just need to loved on their terms.
