Dlh, Or Something Else?

hey! So last year, my sister found a LONGHAIRED kitten (about 9 weeks old) on the road next to a hotel. The kitten was solid black, besides the tail. The tail was almost solid white, but had a few black hairs here and there. The cat today, is still black and the tail has turned quite black, butbit still has white hairs. I'll try to get a before and after pic. Does this sound like an ordinary DLH, or some other breed? Thanks.

I guess the kitten had some odd variation of fever coat.
