Hi all Cool Kats!!
My new rescued kitty came to my house full of fleas and open areas around her neck. I took her right away to the vet with two diagnoses: Miliary dermatitis and infected open wound. Put her on Clavamox two weeks and shaved her skin where the dermatitis was severe. The vet said that the fleas might be the cause of her skin troubles or it could be that she is allergic to something ( per vet: environmental most likely, food allergy rare). After two weeks her skin was much improved no more open wounds. Then last week she started to scratch her neck to a raw spot. Took her to the vet and gave her a round of 2 weeks Clavamox and 5 days Predisone thinking she probably has allergy to something. They can't really say because they need a pattern in her. Any thoughts/comments/experience?
