Forgive me I'm a relatively new parent of two sister kittens, just in the last couple of days one of them (Binx) has become very vocal and crying constantly, she's not been like that before and doesn't appear to be for any obvious reason , she does it walking around and sometimes drops to the floor and rolls around all the while she gets the attention of her sister (Eva) who seems to be a little more aggressive towards her , my worry is that there is something wrong with her and she's unwell, it's probably nothing, but like any new parent I'm worried :-(

No not spayed yet , they're both 6 months old , it's winter time in Dublin Ireland , the VET told me I'd be alright until spring before I'd notice them when they are in heat and to get them spayed before then, do you think it could be that ? Sorry if I sound stupid, like I said I'm a first time parent

Female kittens can go into heat once they’re four months old. I would recommend making an appointment to have her spayed once this heat cycle is over. It’s harder to spay a cat who is in heat.

My cat went into heat a few years ago, about 2 weeks prior to her spay date. It was horrible for all of us! I would encourage you to make sure she is secure inside at all times. You might need to crate her or put her in a spare bedroom or bathroom to keep her inside. Make your spay appointment in about 2-3 weeks. Many vets prefer not to spay while the kitty is in heat because it's a more complicated surgery.

Thanks for the great advice, it's really helpful and put our minds at rest , we'd thought something serious was wrong with her , we've kept them inside since they were rescued, they don't know they outside world and only completed their vaccination a couple of weeks back, we've got a great Vet who's a specialist in Cats , it's planned to get them spayed in the next couple of weeks , as it was winter time I thought it was something else , thanks again

Yeah, she went into heat about every other month, regardless of what season it was.
