Hi all, in 2 months we will be relocating 8 hours away (by plane). We hired a professional pet travel service for our two cats (currently 1yo and 7 months old), and they'll be sending the crates over shortly, they suggested we start crate training straight away. Do you have any tips for the training? Should we start slowly and increase the time they spend in it? Should we place treats in the crates or keep them for post-crating time?

Also, the city we'll be relocating to is in SE Asia, meaning hot and humidity. We've lived there before and we got used to having the aircon on 24/7 when we're home including at night. What should we do with the cats? Leave it on when we're out? Have the aircon to turn on and off at intervals during the day?

Any advice is much appreciated

Hi!

Yes. You can put favorite toys and blankets they've slept on inside the crates so that it smells more like them.

Should we place treats in the crates or keep them for post-crating time?
Probably keep treats for post-crating time, depending on how your kitties react when they're in the crate. If you see that they're resistant at all, treats might help inside.
