I think our kitten, Paisley, has taught our first cat, Duncan, a new meow. Duncan is VERY vocal but his meows tend to be long and drawn out. Paisley is vocal, but her meows are short. She has a "play with me" meow that is short and sharp - almost a bark. And of course I pet and play with her when she does it (and she does it a lot). Duncan figured that out and now does the "play with me" meow. The other day, they were sitting about 8 feet apart and doing this meow alternately. It was very cute and very funny.

That's just too cute for words! And speaks to a cat's intelligence! Duncan saw that it worked for Paisley and decided to try it for himself. NICE JOB, DUNCAN!

That is just so funny. I love it when cats try to communicate with their different "meow" styles and sound.
