My old guy Dusty he is 20,   has been doing pretty good for his age. He does not groom as he did so we have a lot trouble with matts. He

bites when I try to keep him brushed. He will let me shave the matts so that helps. He has all his senses so far yet he meows almost constantly. Does anyone else have an old guy that does this? I am wondering if this is a normal age thing?

The near constant meowing could be a sign that there's something wrong with him. Cognitive dysfunction can sometimes make cats more vocal, as can thyroid issues. Those are just two things that spring to mind - I'm sure there are others too. The best thing is to get him checked out by a vet. At 20, Dusty may need slightly closer monitoring than a younger cat would, so a checkup is never a bad idea.
