For the past year or so Jeta and Zara have been my only raw eaters. Coco has always been willing to nibble a bit but I've never been able to get her to eat a meals worth of raw. Toby won't even taste it.
Every once in a while I try giving Jeta and Zara something different from their standard chicken, turkey, beef and game hen. A few days ago I got them some Rad Cat Lamb which is a pre-made raw, complete food. I've never tried lamb before because I've read so many times about how it is more difficult for them to digest than other meat sources. Zara and Jeta both loved it and didn't have any digestion problems with it.
As usual I gave a bit to Coco to see if she would like it. She *loved* it! I didn't get too excited because I know how fickle she is. She may eat a small amount of something and never touch it again. Well, I gave her a little bit more and then a little more and she ate it all! Next meal time I gave her a full meals worth and she every bit! Next meal time, same thing. At the next meal, not wanting her to get tired of lamb, I gave her some turkey. She all of it!
She's had nothing but raw for the last 5 meals and she seems to be loving it! She polishes off the lamb in literally a matter of seconds!
The Rad Cat is expensive but I'm willing to buy it for her if that is all she'll eat.
From the ingredients list I have a pretty good idea what the recipe is and I might be able to duplicate it at a far lower cost.
I probably should have waited for a few more days to be sure she keeps eating it but I wanted to share! I'm hopeful that a raw diet will mean she won't need the digestive enzyme supplement she has needed for the last 3 years to prevent loose stools.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
