Congrats! What a lovely home!!
That is a large house! I don't know how much you paid, but looking at the pictures, and taking the yard and the number of rooms and size of the rooms etc, that house would sell for about $300,000 where I live. The real estate market here is insane. Houses go on the market in the morning and there are bidding wars with the house being sold that same day for 10's of thousands of dollars over the asking price. I'm talking sometimes in excess of $50,000 over the asking price!Oh, it's small, but perfect for me and the kitties! It's only 1554 square ft. The yard however is 0.3 acres!
The kitchen is AWESOME!CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And It is SO BEAUTIFUL inside - I LOVE that kitchen! It's going to be kitty paradise!
I watch a lot of home-buying shows on HGTV (in the U.S.); quite a few are based in Canada--and I'm stunned by the prices they ask! I thought it was high here! That is a large house! Your house looks beautiful, and I'm thrilled that you found something that you love.
You'll have to post pics of your babies enjoying the yard and basking in the shade or sunbeams!
Is there a basement?
Mike, the A/C/heater, few years old. The water heater is brand new.How old is the heat/AC?
Very nice looking house. I would have guessed much larger that 1500 sq ft! On the other hand...I hate yard work.
I would consider an enclosed shelter for your cats, rather than try to cat-proof the fences, etc.
yeah..... This is the ONLY thing I don't like about the house- it is all electric. I really wish it was gas.... But.... At least I have a fireplace which I intend to use it and use it well.Well, it sounds like you got a good buy. Does it have electric or gas water heat and furnace? The items you mentioned (roof, etc.) are some of the high-buck items that can cause a big expense.
If the roof is new and upgraded, you might be able to get an insurance discount. I can't tell from your photo if it's the better roof, but it may be.
That twigged something for me. Make sure you have adequate smoke detectors in your home. One for each bedroom, living room and your hallway appears long, so make sure you have a couple in the hallway to make sure. That will also qualify you for an insurance discount. Let them know how far you are from a fire hall and fire hydrants too.Originally Posted by mrblanche

That I have no clue :lol3:I'd be more interested in the shingles being "artisan" or "architectural" design, which is much stronger than the standard 3-tab.
Check you PM.
It's a fencing system designed to keep the cats from jumping the regular fence. They have tree guards, too.
