We have a new cat that is about 8 years old. He had really bad breath so the vet thought he might have an infection.

So we were prescribed clindamycin 2ml everyday. Well after one day of clindamycin his stool has been very runny. We only gave him the medication for 2 days. His breath is much better.

But after some flortiflora and about 4 days of no clindamycin he still has very loose stool. He acts perfectly fine and makes it to the litter box.

Anybody have experience with clindamycin and loose stool?

It's common for antibiotics to cause diarrhea. You can give a probiotic to help the digestive system firm up the stools. FortiFlora isn't the best probiotic to use. You can use a Human probiotic. Here's some info: Prebiotics & Probiotics for Cats: Healing Inflammation and gut dysbiosis

Bad breath typically indicates a dental issue. Did the vet check the teeth? Many vets are unfamiliar with dental issues so you may need to seek out a veterinary dentist.

He does need his teeth cleaned. We gave him the clindamycin on the 21st. And I have read that it can take up to two weeks for diarrhea from clindamycin to stop. And he only got the clindamycin for 2 days.

So we have a few more days to see if the loose stool stops.
