I'm fostering a pregnant cat, we just got her three days ago and not really sure how far along she is, she's not that big, but you can feel the babies moving when you palpate her stomach, so I'm guessing she's probably close but just not carrying very many. So this morning got up to clean the litter box and there is a large area of uncovered clear mucus-like stuff. She's still eating and acting normal for her. Let me just note that since getting her she keeps tricking us into thinking labor might be starting cause she'll have episodes where she seems to be breathing faster than normal and licking herself a lot, then just goes back to business as usual. So I guess my questions here are: A. Is this clear mucus stuff normal..is it the mucus plug? There was a lot of it, unless she peed a whole bunch and then the mucus came after. B. If it is the mucus plug how long until we see labor signs? We've had a pregnant momma before, but she ended up giving birth in the wee hours of the night and we awoke in the morning to find momma and babies all doing well that morning, so we didn't get to witness the actual labor and delivery process.
