My fiv+ cat keeps getting upper respiratory infections; albeit, no severe symptoms. Just eye, nose discharge and congestion. Convenia really clears this up, so I’m assuming it is secondary infections causing his symptoms. Is it preferable to his health to get him treated with convenia every three months and should I try something else?

I had the same issue and it ended up my cat was allergic to just about everything and that was the cause. She is on allergy shots now and it’s actually cheaper than taking the cat every couple months for a convenia injections. You may want to ask your vet if allergies are a possibility and if so to try allergy medicine to control symptoms. Mine was impossible to medicate by mouth so I had to do shots. An air vaporizer is good to clear the sinuses.
