i was playing with charli yesterday and i noticed her bum hole was red and raw in the middle. it didn't seem to bother her, and its always been a bit red down there since she had a intestine infection when she was a baby, but this time it looked more red and protruding than usual. should i worry about it? or just leave it? i've just moved house, so maybe her bums like that because shes been stressed with the move(?) and ideas or suggestions?

it could just be what you are feeding him. i would add fiber to his diet, either canned pumpkin or now they have a product out called kitty fiber. i don't know if it is any good or not, i have seen it at my vet's office. but cats usually take to canned pumpkin and it might help relieve your cat's problem. the protruding could be the result of a large stool he had to pass and had trouble doing so. sorry for no caps i have two kittens in my lap right now.

Hi Hissy, I'd like to add fiber to Harry's diet, but he's on a special diet due to struvite crystals. Do you know if the pumpkin would be ok given his diet requirements?

thanks for the advice, i've been feeding both by kitties innova, and my other cat mickey doesn't have a red bum at all, so i assumed it was just because charli had an infection when she was little. i give them cat grass a few times a week also. i will try the pumkin, i was just worried that maybe it was an urgent trip to the vet!
