I’ve been interested in switching my 5 year old cat to a raw food diet for a while and I finally think that I will go for it but what raw food recipe would you recommend and do I need to buy organic ingredients?
Some cats won't eat raw food at all so a slow transition is necessary. It's easiest to start a transition with commercially available raw food first. Freeze dried or air dried raw are usually most acceptable to cats and a good starting place for a diet transition. Then move on to frozen commercial raw or a homemade raw recipe.
Organic meat isn't necessary unless you have concerns about the quality of the meat you buy. Some people buy their meat from a raw pet food supplier such as Hare-Today.com If you buy from a supermarket or butcher shop, be sure the meat hasn't been enhanced with flavorings or broth or solutions and never buy already ground meat.
