I tried the Wellness. On their website they stated that feeding wellness promotes a healthy urine pH and prevents crystal formation.Originally Posted by SummerMH
I'm curious to know which food you switched to, the one that didn't work? I've been researching Azmira, which clearly states their food has been tested as safe & effective for kitties with FLUTD. I just can't stand all the crappy ingredients in C/D, and with 2 other (healthy) kitties in the house, makes me sick that they're all eating it.
thanks,

<edit> I have just gone back to the wellness website (I was going to copy over their claims) and I see they have (finally) removed the claim about preventing crystal formation...Interesting.... I wonder how many people had to write and complain for them to do that. I was one of them.
From the Current Wellness Website
http://www.wellnesspetfood.com/cat_w...dry_index.htmlUrinary Tract Health:
All formulas focus on the number one reason cats go to the vet and the biggest concern cited by consumers - Urinary Tract Health.
\tAchieve the consistent urine pH of 6.1 to 6.6, with a Standard Error of Mean (SEM) of less than 0.10.
\t
\tLimit the amount of magnesium in the diet to further minimize risk.
\t
\tPromote a healthy urinary tract environment with 3 types of cranberries.
Tolly and Jennie are still eating the Wellness but Mazy has had to go back to the c/d kibble. I really want to get her on a canned food, but she won't eat the c/d canned (nor do I want her to). The Royal Canin SO canned has better ingredients, but the numbers are higher, the phosphorous for instance is 1.5 compared to Hill's .68.
I've written to Royal Canin about my concerns over that. Hope to hear back soon. I really really want Mazy on an 80/20 canned food diet like my other two cats are.
I just don't know what to do. So far, the only thing that keeps Mazy crystal free is Hills Prescription c/d. She's very lively and healthy, teeth are clean and strong (I brush them every night with c.e.t. toothpaste) Her poops are low odor and classic size and shape for a cat. Her coat is not as soft and glossy as it was for the two months she was on the wellness, but she is also shedding LESS on the c/d than she was on the wellness.
So she is doing well on it. I just would like her to have canned food. She loves it so....(except the c/d canned that is. but I don't love the c/d canned either ugh!) She's not a good drinker, either.
