Cats side of mouth inflamed?

In the past few days I’ve noticed my cats side of his mouth is inflamed a bit. He’s not bothered by it at all, but im just a bit concerned. He is also currently wearing a sock on the foot on the same side (I’ll attach a photo), could scratching his mouth with the sock cause this type of irritation? Sorry I’m just being paranoid lol.

Yeah, it could if you see him rubbing it on his mouth trying to get it off. Hope he gets the sock off soon!
