One of our indoor cats and our outside cat like to square off with each other across window screens when we open the windows to let in fresh air. From both sides they've ripped up the screen and one of the screens has a hole in it big enough for a cat to walk through, so now that window is closed until the screen can be repaired. Questions: We're thinking about replacing these with aluminum screen, which is heavier than standard screen material. Has anyone found that aluminum screen resists tearing from cat claws? If we just get standard screen material, is there any kind of spray to use on the screen that will discourage the cats from squaring off across the screens? We've tried a spray water bottle but found that when we turn our back, the cats are at it again.
