cats n dogs...

we have moved to an area with a lot of dogs, needless to say our cat oakley is not impressed.

is there anything we can do to get her used to dogs, as we may be having them in our house when friends come to visit

Not much you can do to get her used to dogs unless you have a friend with a small dog that you can borrow for a few days.

More then likely she will hiss at the dogs or run and hide from them.

Most times unless you say its ok, people don't just automatically bring the dog along if they live nearby.

Spooky lived his entire life without dogs (till Keno came to live with us) - he was 11 yrs old when he had to live with the dog. But not much phased him and he took it in stride. Hissed a few times but more/less ignored the dog.

Keno did "raise" a few litters of kittens and Ling's known Keno since she was 5 weeks old.

Not much but make sure Oakley has a safe place she can hide or run to if she feels overwhelmed by the dogs.
