Cat's Clawing Furniture

I have 2 cats and they claw alot! I never knew how to stop them cause me or someone else would have to take their paws off the funriture they are clawing but they still continue to claw stuff and wont stop. My family is getting a new kitten and I'm afriad its gonna claw aswell. Does anyone have tips on how to make my cats stop clawing? Thanks for reading!
