Hey guys , so today I decided to spoil my two cats (one kitten, other 2 yr old) by buying them a cat tree. I bought the 2 yr old River a scratching post but she was never interested. But my kitten Klaus is very interested on climbing up top and jumping down to surprise attack river. So I figured he'd like a cat tree and so would she. A friend of mine told me to use catnip for them to get used to it and also to help them only scratch that and not our floors and couch and also stop attacking a flower lamp I made. Well never using catnip before I just crumbled it and spread it all around the toys and holy. I was not expecting them to go that insane. How much cat nip should I be using and also is it bad for them to ingest if they try to?

It's fine if a cat eats loose catnip
You don't have to crumble the dried catnip for your cats. I don't think anyone measures how much catnip they give to a cat. A few sprinkles is enough to get most cats crazy
