I just saw a really quick news preview about a cat that was trapped between two buildings for 12 days and the owner did nothing or, giving the benefit of the doubt, didn't realize it.
I used to walk past this store all the time in downtown Kent, called Rodneys The Complete Bookstore or something. It is a really tiny, run down comic book shop. Probably a jackpot to comic fans, theres a ton of really old comics and cool stuff. They are always closed and one time I was convinced that the guy died or something and was inside cuz the shop didn't open for like 2 weeks.
Anyways, I always stopped to see the cat there and talk to the guy about her. She had a lot of flea bites and had hair missing all down her back. I was pretty sure it was fleas but the owner said she gets a rash. I considered reporting him to the Humane Officer but, once again giving him the benefit of the doubt, (he was a really old man) I just thought I would keep stopping in to see the cat and everything.
On the news just now, they showed a clip of a building (I am 90%) sure it was this bookstore. And they said the cat was trapped in between the building for 12 days and no one noticed I guess.
It really makes me mad because I haven;t been by in a little while and something always told me to either go back and check on the cat, or even to just report it already.
Poor kitty. I hope they took her to the APL and didn't return her back to the owner. Or had a long talk with him.
If by chance I am wrong, and that is not the place they showed on the news clip. I am still going to stop in and check on her tomorrow
How could I not?
