This question is mostly for fun.  I have seen several related, but different, interpretations of the meaning of a cat's tail held high with a small kink at the tip.  Is it:  the cat is relaxed and ready to play, the cat is showing respect for you, or the cat is happy, but not exactly sure what is happening?  Any others?  The only reason an answer is important is that there are so many supposed trustworthy comments on cat behavior, and I don't know what to believe.  BTW, my cat pictured in my avatar when she isn't lying around usually holds her tail in this fashion.  When she's REALLY happy, say when she's given something yummy, she holds her tail high, but curved over her back.

I call it the question mark tail. I -think-, though have nothing to back it up, that kitty is in playful mood.
