My cat is nearly 3 years old. Her voice has suddenly became hoarse this afternoon. Her eyes are squinting but not watery. She ate in the evening but didn't complete the entire bowl. Normally she asks for extra food. But today she didn't ask me. I saw her gagging once.. Seems like she feels uncomfortable near her throat.
Please tell me what might have happened to her voice. Is it serious?
I will take her to the vet in the morning.

cats can get similar issues that humans get we lose our voices or get hoarse. If it doesn't resolve itself in a few days, then would be the time to take her in to be seen. But it's possible her throat has been irritated by inhaling dust, or even a piece of grass or something similar. Or she could be getting a cold. It's probably nothing serious, but as I said, if it doesn't resolve in a few days, then a Vet visit is a good idea. Or if she stops eating completely, then absolutely take her in to be seen.
