We recently took her to the vet to get spayed. They forgot to give her a cone, and we had to wait until we were home to put it on. She was immediately not liking the cone at all and would do whatever it took to take it off. Which is reasonable, so we tied it behind her front paws and over her back for extra security and she can't take it off anymore which is good. This is temporary until her recovery suit that we ordered comes in. Since she is used to sweaters, I think it would be less stressful for her.
However, during the times she would bang against her crate and roll around, we noticed that there was dry blood around the incision mark. We were wondering if that was normal, or if we should stop by the vet asap to make sure.
