My young cat seems to have eaten a rubberband at some point. The only reason I know is because I’ve spotted a bit hanging from her bum. She doesn’t seem able to pass it for reasons unknown. She’s eating and playing and pooping normally (I’ve been watching her poop for a couple of days now), but the band just...stays there.

I’ve got an appointment with the vet but I was wondering if anyone had any idea why it might not be coming out?

I would get her to the vet ASAP to get it taken out. It could be lodged onto something inside so definitely don't pull it, but I also would feel uncomfortable leaving it there for any longer and would want a vet to remove it ASAP.

I agree with Neo_23. Vet as soon as you possibly can. when is your appointment, i would think they would take you in quickly as an emergency situation ? And you definitely don't want to try to pull it out yourself.
