Cat Needs To Gain Weight

What can i give a stray cat that needs to gain weight? When i pet her she feels like just fur and bones. I give her 1 5oz can of wet food in the morning and 1 at night and she has access to dry food and water all day.

I would give a high-protein pate formula like Friskies. Although, it sounds like you are definitely giving her enough food. She may have tapeworm, which can make it difficult for them to keep weight on. Hopefully, she just burns a lot of calories and is not sick. Than you for taking care of her...

sounds like you are feeding enough, with the 2- 5 oz cans and free access to day. Although i have had some outside cats that will eat 3 or more cans of wet, and dry, but usually in the cold months.

I also agree with sweetblackpaws about parasite treatment. As you vet about something like profender. you can put it on the back of her neck and it will take care of most parasites.
