I have a 3 year old tortie named Blaze. She is in good health but definitely has some serious attitude. This past August I switched to the Breeze litter box after it being reccomended to me by a few other cat mamas! I got her the one with the hood which I didn’t think would be an issue because her regular box also had a hood on it. For the first few weeks she wasn’t a huge fan of it, urintaing outside of it and holding her poop for as long as she possibly could. She eventually started to use the box regularly but still with some hesitation.
Around this time I started noticing some bright red blood and mucus on the outside of her poop so I brought her to the vet back in November where they did a full examination and concluded that she was perfectly healthy and that it was probably just from stress (she is very high strung and we had been traveling a lot. I had also very recently changed her food and her literbox). I continued to notice the bright red blood and mucus on her poop so I called the vet again and they put her on a new wet food that is good for cats with tummy problems. I also stopped giving her the Greenie treats and started giving her Blue Wilderness treats and there hasn’t been blood in her poop since.
After a month or two of switching her over to the Breeze litter box, even though she would use it when she had to, when she had the chance she would urinate in the bathroom sink, which was a habit of hers when she was a kitten (I thought she had grown out of it...). She would even go number 2 in there every now and then. I try my best to keep the bathroom door shut but sometimes I forget and when I do, she takes the opportunity to go in the bathroom sink. Over the past week or two, I have found poop in the sink twice. There is no blood in her poop, and she seems to be feeling fine and acting normal so I don’t really think it’s due to a health issue. I feel like this is a behavioral issue, and that she might just despise her Breeze litter box since this really started around the time of me getting it. I’m not sure if it’s too small with the hood, if she hates the feeling of the pellets, or if she is just rebelling for some reason. Sorry to ramble, but I wanted to see if anyone else has had similar experiences to this and if they could give me some advice
