If those are actually white spots I suspect the cat has vitiligo. That's not normal cat coloring. But it could also be a picture of a tortie with the red bits photoshopped to be white, or just really weird lighting so the camera didn't pick up the colors correctly.
Yes, I agree with the above. So the first question, is it a real photo you yourself took, or did you found in on Internet? Do you know anything more about this pic?
It it were a human he could simply be a widower, but cat widower dont react this way. Even if they can mourn deeply.
This is an interesting thread. I have been around a long time, but never heard of this in cats. I wonder if it is asymmetrical in cats as it is in humans.
I was diagnosed almost forty years ago. It started on both my knees, then went to both my elbows and kept spreading. I tried all kinds of creams, pills then tan in a tanning bed. Nothing worked. Now I am no longer splotched. My skin in creamy white and people tell me all the time how wonderful it is.
But for a time, I was very self conscious and thought I was ugly because of the splotches. I wonder if cats who have this will turn completely white. In humans there are a few known causes, but I never knew what mine is caused by. It may be the same in cat.
