Cat Has Poo Butt And Smears Everywhere

My cat will get little wet pieces of poo stick to his butt (he’s shorthair) and then I’ll look and it’s smeared and stamped everywhere. He sleeps by my face at night and I have four little poo stamps right by my pillow. What do I do? HELP!

has he been to the vet recently? If not that is the first thing i would do, make sure he is up on all of his parasite treatments and nothing else going on.

Not sure if he has soft stool? or Diarrhea? cats will occasionally have poo on their butt, but it should not be a major problem everywhere, or all the time.

What food is he eating? maybe its not quite agreeing with him? If the vet visit is good, then i would maybe try changing his food?

I agree with duckpond. It's odd for a shorthair cat to have poop stuck to their butt that often. If his stool is that soft he needs a vet visit and probably a diet change.
