I have a 9 month old tuxedo cat. In the last few weeks I’ve noticed some bad breath. I can’t explain what is smells like. It’s not fishy and only noticeable when he yawns and is right next to me.

Should I bring him to the vet for this, or try something over the counter first (treats, brushing his teeth)? He’s otherwise acting fine and eats very well.

Teeth brushing is always good for teeth 👍 It's easiest to start a kitten on teeth brushing than an adult. Pet stores sell pet tooth brushing kits. The toothpaste just needs to be swabbed on the teeth, no rubbing action needed.

Can you look at his teeth, is the any redness on the gum line. Its always good to brush their teeth and now would be a good time to start. Are you able to post a photo of his teeth and gum.
I don’t see any redness at all. I will try to get a pic of his teeth.
