We adopted a feral cat from outside about 3 years ago. For the last 2 yrs, she has lived inside with us and interacts with us daily. Her name is Possum and she would always sleep on my husband at night in his recliner and she and I would play together. She had a nice warm house with plenty of food and she felt safe and was the only pet. This is as tame as we could get her. We could not pick her up. Well about 3 weeks ago she got out of the house. For the first few days she stayed around and one night while she was eating, my husband was able to grab her by the scruff of her neck and start ed to bring her inside. She wiggled so badly that he dropped her. Possum took off and has not been back since. We live in the country and she has simply vanished. My question is do you think she will come back? We have been leaving food outside, but so far nothing, nor have i seen her... Its almost like she was traumatized so badly that she ran away from home. My heart is breaking as we see other cats but not her...It is so cold outside and I fear the worst.
