I need to switch my kitties food. They eat Special Kitty and it doesn't really agree with them. However, it's cheap. I need to switch them to a food that won;t give them diarhea and isn't overly expensive. Any suggestions?
I agree - the cost should work out to be about the same. Some people have already named good brands, but I'll add Felidae, California Natural and Solid Gold.Originally Posted by Aquarius
I think Nutro is relatively cheap. That is a very good food. I like Innova the best, though. Though it seems a bit expensive, he really eats a lot less of it, so it lasts a while longer.
You may find this of many higher quality foods too -- thought they cost more per pound, they have less cheap fillers, so often you will find that your cat will eat less of them, and on a day to day feeding comparison it ends up costing about the same as the cheap brands to begin with!
For example, you have seen my big boy Soloman -- 14 pounds -- he eats less than 1/4 c of the Innova dry per meal (if feeding 2 meals per day).
