Has anyone here ever tried to give their cat an enema by yourself (without vet's help?) Mitties is plugged up again and struggling in the litterbox.
Last time this happened my husband and I gave her an enema (didn't go well) and another one about an hour later (per the vet's instructions). This was about 7 p.m. Sometime in the night she pooped all over the floor (luckily I found it before I stepped in it) and it contained **GRAPHIC WARNING** a large terd about 1/2 the size of an egg, and a lot of mushy poop. She was completely fine after that.
Today I have to work an 18 hour day, and I didn't want her struggling and in pain all day, so I gave her an enema. She was lying on the floor and I was brushing her... she was quite content... and I saw a great opportunity to do a "flash enema" while she was still relaxed. Well I did it so fast she didn't even know what happened, and got up and looked at me like, "What the heck?" but then proceeded to make several trips to her litterbox. Nothing so far, but I'm sure it will help a little.
As of yesterday, she's on all wet food, her Vetbasis Hairball gel is on the way, and so is her Petmate Fresh Flow water fountain. Is there anything else I can do in the meantime to make her more comfortable?
Again, sorry all my posts are about constipation. (Enough already, right?)
