I'm looking into creating a catio coming off the basement window. However, I can't find an insert for an awning window. Any suggestions? I'm willing to DIY if needed as well.

That's a neat idea. It looks like Home Depot has something like that. It looks like it replaces the whole window though. I guess if your existing window had more than one pane of glass you could take one out and try to build a regular pet door into that space....as long as it was large enough.

Here's the one that I found.

This ones a bit cheaper.

I am not sure where to purchase, but here is a site that has lots and lots of catio ideas

That "luxury" cat enclosure is awesome. I wish I had room for something like that.

OP, I can't offer much advice other than that Home Depot has some components that you can repurpose for ledges and outcroppings. I actually went to buy some scrap wood to build a ledge from scratch, but my local Home Depot doesn't sell scrap wood. So I just bought a shelf and some mounts, and DIY'd a cat ledge with padding to give my cat somewhere high to escape to. I didn't have too many places for him to climb in my apartment, so it was needed.

Home Depot has several different kinds of miniature "fencing" and netted barriers that can be used for enclosures. Dunno about glass. But going DIY gives you the advantage of building something that fits exactly onto your window. Good luck.
