Cat chases tail at sound of shower

My daughters cat, Charlie, has a very strange reaction to the shower running....he goes into a frenzy chasing his tail.

I was wondering if this could be behavorial, or maybe the sound sends him into a kind of "fit".

You can see Charlie on YouTube at Charlie The Cat Goes Insane Chasing His Tail.  Hes A Loco Kitty.  I just typed it into Google and it came right up.'

Any thoughts??  He eventually stops and is dizzy and panting.  They now put him out of the bathroom when showering as they don't want it to do him any harm.

If you google "Charlie the cat goes insane chasing his tail. Hes a loco kitty" it will pop right up.  He is on a white rug. I don't know how to imbed anything. 

Maybe it is just normal cat behavior.  It is just so extreme
