Cat biting at healed stitches

My kitten was spayed 3 weeks ago and the incision site has mostly healed except for a lone thread sticking out of her belly. In the first picture (few days after spay) you can see that it's the excess thread and the second pic is what it looks like now. She keeps pulling at it when she's grooming but it doesn't seem to hurt her, she treats it like an annoyance. Can i just cut off some of the length (not all) so she wont bite at it or do i have to go to the vet to get it checked out?

Did they use stitches that dissolve?
Maybe call them and double check that you can cut it-- cutting isn't the issue in itself, but there may be some reason they'd want to see her.
