Just wanted to let everyone know that Cassie, the cat I rescued from the neighborhood in town where she had been left behind by her previous owners, is doing quite well! She still prefers being outside, but she comes up every morning and evening for her food and some good loves. Percy could care less about her being here, which is good. They eat side by side and have no problems sharing the barn and hay, as well as a good deal of mice, I'm sure. Sophie, on the other hand, is not impressed by the newcomer. Cassie has developed a habit of sitting on the outside window ledges and calmly staring at Sophie through the glass, while poor Sophie meows and paws at the window like a crazy girl. I would have rather had Cassie inside, but she was just obviously not going to adjust. She panicked every time she got in an enclosed area and refused to use a litter box. Poor baby would just hold it and hold it, which I knew couldn't possibly be good for her! Now that she is outside, she is relaxed and seems very content. Thank goodness for happy endings! (Yes, she is spayed and Percy is neutered....I know Katie will be asking!
